Muddy, Muddy Mess!
Today we went clamming at 9:00 am and finished at abour 11:oo am. What a muddy mess. What you do is dig w/ a shovel about 6 inches down and get on you hands and knees and dig about another 6 just trying to find a clam. They are razor clams and Andrew found out just how sharp they were! They are the uggliest things I have ever seen. Trace wouldn't even touch them. They have two necks about 3 inches long, one that takes the food in and one that spits it back out. One the other end they have a foot that can dig about an inch every second so you have to did fast! We marinated some in Teriaki, Garlic & Salt and Pepper. They were all good. Saije had a bite of each of them and that was enough for her. Trace, oh no, no bite for him! He is a boy and I thought he would totally get into this! NO! We are going to hit the sack early tonight! Clamming took it all out of us. Poor Lars, he was the one with the shovel and he can barely lift his arms and he has to go play tonight!
