Happy Goose Day?

Well I started out with a goose that Lars shot and thought to myself, At least we'll be eating a bird for dinner and not fish. I am not knocking fish now, I just didn't get a juicy turkey last year, just a little piece of ham. Lars brought home 3 geese altogether and so we cooked one right away to see if it could really be eaten, like on "The Christmas Story". Man was it delicious! We all ate it and loved it! We loved it sooo much that Lars cooked it 2 more times later in the week which left us ZERO! No bird for Turkey Day! We then got an invitaion to dinner at my boss' home. Whew! I can't wait for turkey! Then I got word that Peter pan Cannery is serving Prime Rib and all the trimmings for Thanksgiving! $10 a plate! I thought to myself that hey this is quite a deal! So I am going to go buy a plate for whoever wants one and take it home and eat in the next day!!!! I can't just not take advantage of Prime Rib! And especially in KC! I don't have to travel anywhere, it came to me! Lars and I can just heat it up and call it date night at the Claim Jumper! Well and about that Turkey, the store just got some in so I decided to buy one for Christmas, just incase Lars dosen't get to shoot another goose before christmas, which would only last about 24 hours in our home anyway. The bill came to 49.95 for a 23 pd. Turkey! That includes shipping and handling and a killer inflation rate! I sure hope that turkey is good because that's what I am getting for Christmas! Have a Happy Thanksgiving Day!
I am very thankful for my loving family, near and far. I Love and miss you all!

Tsunami warning in KC!

Yes it really happened! We were all asleep and the phone rang at 4:00 am, the answering machine picked up and the message said, "We are in Tsunami Warning, move to higher ground." After that I ran and listened to the machine to see if I heard right. I hung up the phone and ran around yelling for everyone to get up and then the phone rang again. Lars answered the phone and it was my boss saying the same thing. He said that the police chief will be giving directions at 4:30 am. It was 4:15, so he said to stay home and wait for the call. It was crazy wondering if we were really in danger. I knew that we were surrounded by many Islands and that they break all the waves coming in. We never see anything over 3 ft. high on the beach. We got the call that we were no longer in danger and the warning was off. There was a earthquake off the shore of Japan and we did get about 16 inches in water rise and that's it. Thank you dear God! All I could do was say a prayer and lay by Trace, I never did wake him up because I didn't want to freak him out. The girls huddled on the couch and Lars just sat holding the phone. Well, we surrvived a Tsunami Warning! All is going well, AndChristmas is on the way. It is time to get on the internet a go shopping! Hopefully I will get everything mailed in before the shitty weather hits! Happy Holidays! Love the Larsen's and Bowler's

Volleyball goes to Region!

After we made it in from Cold Bay the girls found out that they had a Volleyball game to go to region. They beat Sand Point, OH Yea!!!! ANd guess where Reigion is? In Port Lyons, on Kodiak Island! Out of the 3 girls that just came back from there, not one wanted to go! The weather is pretty shitty still, and they probably won't get out until Sat. , Today! Which is the day of Region! We'll see. I know that Nena and Weezy aren't going, but hopefully KC will get to go to state! Just got word, they made it out of KC. Kick their butts KC, Take Region! Oh! I Take that back, they cancelled the flight! Sand Point will probably get stuck here until Thanksgiving, poor souls! So we didn't get to go to Region, that means no State!!!! Man the weather in KC is CRRRAPY!!!! That's life in King Cove! Over and Out!

Hey Hey Hey, we're b-a-c-k-!

Well Neisha finally took off to Valdez for ASAG & Elyse and I took off to Kodiak for Teen Court Conf. While Lars and Trace got to tear the house to small pieces while we were gone! Neisha didn't get any pictures of Valdez but had to say it was worth visiting. Huge pines and huge Log Homes, She said that it's where I would love to live! YEA! The temp. is warmer than KC in the summer but gets alot of snow. We could actually snow board there. Anyway, Elyse and I learned alot about starting up a Teen Court in KC. It could help the youth get a spanking instead of jail time for their first offence, whether it be shop lifting or graffiti. They get a choice to have their peers sentence them to work hours or alcohol/smoking classes or working with the community to make everything right again. I am very excited to be involved in helping the youth become productive citizens instead of housing them in jail cells. Kodiak was beautiful, and they had a Bowling Alley! We hope to get a grant to get a 2to4 lane built in KC. Maybe in 20 years, but we're working on it!
Between Neisha and Our flights we can see why no one travels during the winter! HOLY!!! Two of our kids used MANY of the barf bags on the flight out of Kodiak. Then when we got to Anchorage the fog was so thick that no planes could land so we cirlced for 15 min. and that seems like forever when you are in the air 5000 ft and circling!!!!! Well we got to stay the night in ANchorage and go SHOPPING!!!! We all had a great time. Well we woke up the next morning and hurried to the airport and missed our flight, Darn it! SO we had to go watch a flick, . After the flick we shopped some more, Darn it! WE got back to the airport flew to Sandpoint then to COld Bay only to end up having to stay the night! THe weather was soooo bad that flights haven't gone out for 2 days! Well we woke up at 9:00 and the plane had a 15 min. window to get us to KC. So we went for it!!!! Trace missed me soooo much that he said, "Mom I am going to pray for you to come home tomorrow." And so I did! I love that little guy! It was a hairy flight but worth it! The kids acted as if we were on a roller coaster ride at Disney Land, holding there arms in the air and screaming! Hey this isn't Disney Land, this is life altering damn it! Well we landed sideways but in one piece. Man those pilots are awesome and quite INSANE~~ Peace Out!
