Flash Back was their name and dancing was there game! They came up with a 10 song mix: #1-Super Star #2-Hit me with your best shot #3-Laffy Taffy #4-I Love Nascar #5-First Date #6 Spice Girls "I'll tell you what I want" #7-Grease Lightning #8-Let's get Physical #9-Thriller #10-Numa Numa! Elyse, Neisha, Saije and Maria put on the best show KC has ever seen! They had every wig known to man and the costumes were awesome! They are already thinking up something for next year. The points possible were 5 per area and total was 15 and they recieved a 14.3/4. How is that possible we have no idea, but They WON! They took 1st place! There were so many great talents. It is about time that all the years of putting on plays at Grandma Larsen's and dancing in our basement paid off! They won $150.00, free movie rentals and a certificate for Chinesse food. We have it on tape I will try to remind the fgirls to bring it down to the lower 48 this summer.

Trace has a new hunting partner

Ya it's true and mommy ain't happy! Another DOG! Trace came home from the neighbors and brought home a little friend. I thought that Andrew would march him right back over there and take it back, but I was wrong. He told Trace that he could have the dog if he fed it and cleaned up after it. Ya right! I knew it would be me so I was all prepared to send the dog back. Well the feeding went well, but then the clean up came and I wasn't sure Trace was going to make it through it. All the sudden you hear, Dad I can't do it! Then, Son are we gona take the dog back?
Then Dad I'll puke! Do you want me to puke? Then, Ham that's what you have to do when you have a dog. Then, If I touch it I'll puke, It is gushy not hard! Then I came in and helped pack the dogs belongings and Trace ran over and plugged his nose and tried with all his heart to pick it up and when his breath ran out he screamed, I am going to die if I have to pick that up!
Well Muck didn't die. I whispered in his ear to ask dad if he would show him how to clean up after a dog so he can learn. Lars happily showed hem and Trace has been doing it ever since! Yea! I mean Boo000!! I wanted to send the dog back! His name is Tanner and he is the newest addition to our home in KC!

A Visit To Juneau, Ak

Juneau, AK
Cherie had to go to a conference for Head Start and got to spend 4 days in sunny Juneau. Usually it is very rainy. She said that it was sunny because she brought her bright and cheery personality to share with everyone! There are 31,000 people that live there. It has nothing but trees and water! The big Cruise ships come in the summer months and dock. That is a big $ maker. She also got to visit the Glacier and had many warm walks on the docks.

Pictures of King Cove

One is from the top of the pass looking down on King Cove. A shot of Peter Pan Cannery and boat dropping off their catch. A seal in the Lagoon. It only freezes the halfwhere the fresh water comes in from the streams. Standing on the Ferry dock, I took a picture across the bay from where we live. Our house is the one on the far right.

WInter in KC

Lately things have been pretty rough around here. The weather as been around 10 degrees with a wind chill factor which puts us around 5 below. House pipes have been freezing and the Fuel truck has been broke down so people have been filling large cans and filling there own tanks. Today Trace asked if he could go outside to play. The sun is out, but that dang wind'l get ya. He only lasted an hour which is longer than I thought he would. The picture I included is Trace wishing that he could play Basketball! Some day son, I promise. ELyse got to leave for a week to go to the Basketball Tournament in NakNak, which is located by King Salmon on the Bristol Bay coast line. Both the Boys and Girls teams are there and they have both won all there games. They have there last game tonight and hopefully they will get to go to region. Neisha decided to quit Basketball and focus on Pep Club. She has taught them 10 cheers and 1 dance. We might have region here in King Cove and they will get to be the half time entertainment. The kids love it! Well we have all had the flu and now have the common cold. Man I hope we get better soon! We love you all! Isilik! (Bye)

Sea food for the New Year!

Trace is showing off the abundant sea food that daddy has brought home to momma! Lars has been going out with Pat Walker fishing. He has taught him how to find Cuttlefish/Octopus. So far he has brought home 4. We have all tried it and Saije and Elyse don't really care for it. As for Trace he just likes to show 'em off to his friends. The Cod has quite an ugly mug. Alot of worms too. If you go far enough off shore they don't have worms. They caught this one trolling back in the skiff. Dad is THE BEST FISHERMAN, just askTrace! For New Years Lars, Trace and I went to my bosses house and had a great time. Trace got into some good snowball fights, ate for hours, and played games until it was time to light the firecrackers and bring in the new year. The girls had babysitting jobs and are ready to go to the Mall! That will have to wait 'til summer! Poor picked on girls! Happy New Year to all! May it be one of the best!

A kiss on Christmas from the Muck, to all of you!

Trace got this awesome bomber hat from Grandma and Grandpa Kump. He reminds me of a younger Lars! At least I know what I'm up against! SMILE! He sends a great big kiss out to you all! Merry Christmas!

The Christmas program

Lars was the program director and got the opportunity to put this awesome Christmas Program together. He had to work with 100 kids for 3 weeks straight. I know, I said the same thing to my self, Lars with kids? He had all the parents laughing and very proud of their children by the end of the night. Trace got up there and sang like no other. Saije, Elyse and Neisha got up there and danced but the picture didn't turn out. Saije got to throw the candy to all the kids and dumped a huge bucket on a 3 year old! The lights blinded her so she couldn't see the kid and I am sure that the kid didn't mind either. We all got a picture with Santa. Trace didn't want to stick around and sit on his lap. He said that he was just Santa's Helper! What a cutie!

Trace ready to ship out to Grandma and Grandpa!

We know how much you all wish that Muck was there for Christmas and so we tried to package him up and ship him out! Of course momma just couldn't do it!

Happy Holidays!

Trace wanted you all to see the finished product. He decorated the tree all by himself, he also created the painting for all his Grandma's and Grandpa's! He loves you all and says, "Merry Christmas!" Qagasaakung for all the presents! Thats how you say thank you in Aleut. I am now the Aleut language teacher in class. He has learned how to say: Hello - Aung Aung, No-Kuuguu, Eye- Dax, Hand- Chax, Feet- Kitax, Listen-Tuutada and Sit-Ungachida. Guess which words he hears the most? (SMILE) Take care ya all! Isilik. (that means talk or see you again, they never say goodbye) Love Cherie

A Bears Fingernails compared to Mucks

Trace just wanted to measure how long his fingernails were compared to the Brown Bears next door. When Traces toenails skim your leg you would think that they were just as long as those claws! And yes the camera is back in action. Hallelujah! So we will keep taking pictures for your shear enjoyment.

King Cove Update!

Hey how is everyone doing? Here in KC the weather is really crazy. Wind blowing at at least 60 mph. and rain that has clogged the drains. Trace was a little worried this morning. As we were going to school the road was covered in water and the City was trying to un plug the drains. Trace thought that KC was going to be covered in water! Poor kid, all he wanted to do was go back to Utah. Right now things are alot dryer. The drains are fixed and Lars just cooked up some Caribou. Now that is some nice tasting vidles. The girls have there first home Basketball game on Tues. the 13 of December. Elyse is suprising us all with her talent and athetic capabilities. Neisha wishes that she was on the sidelines Cheering. She said that she is doing this sport just for the exercise of it! At least she will be fit and able to get away from the boys! Today Trace got to go to Santa's Secret Workshop and pick out a present for his family members. They had some nice items to choose from. He was pretty upset when he found out that the gifts went to his family instead of himself! He has also been practicing his part in the Local Church Christmas Play. He is a Shepherd and dang proud of it. He has one of his parts memorized and the second one dang close. "Christmas has come, greeting to you! Hope you enjoy Our program too." Heck after a cutie like that welcoming you, who wouldn't want to stay!

Thanksgiving in King Cove

Happy Thanksgiving! There's just something nice about a Golden Bird, Glazed Ham, Sweet Yams, Homemade Rolls, Perfect Pumpkin Pie, Real Mashed Potatoes, And Bubba's Buttermilk Pie!
Heck that's not all we ate either. Neighbors brought over Shrimp, Halibut and Bacon wrapped Scallops! I was so thankful that we didn't have to eat Whale! We had a nice dinner, but it just wasn't the same without the Family! I hope that the Christmas Party was ok, since we couldn't be there. Smile! We will be eating good for the next few days. Sorry no pictures are available. Saije dropped the camera, may it RIP! We tried to fix it once, but they are just never the same after you work on 'em! We will have to get one from Santa Clause. Take care-

The Sun is out and the Powder's Bitchin'

Well we have had the last 3 days full of sunshine and snow! I took Cherie, Saije and our neighbor Johnny snowboarding. I dropped them off to hike up about a mile a enjoy some fresh powder. While they were boarding Muck and I tied a rope to the back of the suburban and attatched it to a sled and pulled him up to an awesome spot to sled and watch Cherie and them board down. Saije did pretty good for just starting out and Johnny bonzi down, he was the huge snowball heading our way. And Cherie just slowly cruised down and made some nice tracks. She had taken snowboard lessons years back. Go mama! On our way home the 3 kids got in the sled and we pulled them half way home. The sled is offically out of service. It looks like that sled on National Lampoons Christmas Vacation!Holy!

Ice Fishin' w/Lucky Lars

Lars and Much have been ice fishing everysince the lake has froze over. Trace has found this cool stick and Lars attatched some 10 pd. test on it, the crazy thing is Trace has been catching fish on it! The first day Lars stood about 10 feet out on the ice and was trying to convince Trace that it was safe to come out on the ice. After about 5 min. Lars broke through and Trace ran for the truck! Luckily Lars was in the shallow and only went up to his waist. After some locals kept walking back and forth on a "ice" trail Trace decided he would go out. They caught some nice popcicle trout and brought them home and cooked 'em up. They also went down on the lower creek and which pools to one side and freezes over. The fish are alittle bit bigger but your line is constantly having to be cleaned of the iceicles.

Boats and Bears and Playground

There are some awesome boats here. There's this sailboat that I keep dreaming about and it keeps calling my name to buy it! Then I will sail down and pick Lisa and CJ up in Seattle! Hey, it could happen! As for the sign at the playground, No way in heck am I letting Trace swing with the bears! Ya never know what they might teach him! (smile)

Just for the "Halibut"

Lars got up this morning and put a boot in the Burbans tailpipe! It dosen't like the cold weather! No it don't! It's starter is offically RIP! It will take about a week to get a new one so we are SOL!
After abusing the Burban Lars took off on a small skif with the man that found him out on that lonely night, Pat W. They got a nice Halibut and Sculpin that they used as bait. Lars caught a huge Star Fish, not what they were hoping to hook. They went out 30 miles or so off shore and anchored. Lars got a little sea sick, but was able to contain the spillage. He came back with some fish and a sunburn. Saije was so proud that she had to be the one to show one off. That was the smallest the caught and the only one she could pick up!
